Bon Appetite - The Maids Head, Frintgraninghamondan

We, of the Ragged Society of Antiquarian Ramblers, are delighted to be able to feature some reviews of some of the fine tea rooms and eateries to be found across England, as submitted by respectable members of the British public...

FRINTGRANINGHAMONDAM (pron. 'Sibley'), Norfolk              THE MAIDS HEAD

A clean establishment run by an amiable landlord and his wife - the Squits. At 5/- lunch (August 1952), I can recommend Mrs Squits' beautiful chops. Simple fare here: mutton, steak and kidney pie, calves liver and bacon, and, in the midst of it all, an harrassed waiter. Note too, a glove rack regaled with string-backed driving gloves, located by the bar. Splendid! Beer good.

  1. You sure about that pronunciation? Think you'll find born & bred Frintgranocks say Siblie.
