Ragged Ramblers: Togs & Time Walk

As Our Reader will be aware The Ragged Society of Antiquarian Ramblers has many facets.  For instance, we offer events and happenings, involving creative engagement with historical spaces/places. This piece - hosted on our Ragged Ramblers' Events blog - describes some of the things folk will see as they join us on an historic-photographic Ramble though Norwich on March 19th:

  10. Just remember that if the woman drowns, she is a witch.

  11. Normally Whit I wouldn't deem to question another mans comments, but what we have here is a ducking as opposed to the 'swimming' of a suspected witch. And contrary to popular belief, the women were attached to ropes to prevent them from drowning. If however the water did reject them there was a chance that they would be hanged, although it was usual to look for other evidence of witchcraft as well...
