Walking in the Footsteps...

Pictured here, a fascinating little monograph - indeed, to the best of my knowledge, the first ever  Norwich Cathedral guidebook. With its lovely hand-made textured paper, and deeply embossed title page, being published in 1785, this may even have been once held by Cornelius Hump, Esq. himself!

Here is a sample of what lies therein...

In a similarly 'laborious Antiquarian' manner, members of The Ragged Society of Antiquarian Ramblers are currently planning an excursion to the cathedral, with a mind to walking the spaces once described by Mr. P. Browne. We anticipate that comparing the building between now and then will prove to be most interesting exercise. Naturally, once we have completed this learn-ed perambulation, we will be sharing our findings here.

Huzzah!

  3. Dear The Screech,

I would like to share something with you here: yesterday, someone left a most peculiar message on my telephone recording device. It was a queer guttural screech. I wonder if you have any knowledge of this?

  4. Dear Mr Munro Tweede-Harris

Surely you know the difference between a Haieeeeeeeeeeeezuh most commonly uttered by the Screech and Aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, which is most commonly attributed to me. It was I who left the message and was somewhat aggrieved that you never returned my call.

    Aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
