The Island of West Mersea

Viewed from above, the island of West Mersea in Essex, is shaped like an oyster; appropriately so, since the Mersea oysters are famous for their quality (and I can testify to this!). The houseboats of all shapes and sizes are most pleasing to my eye. A splendid place to Ramble Raggedly...

  1. I have never eaten oysters, but I have lived on a house boat. I suppose That one out of two isn't bad!
I like it Munro, I like it a lot.

  2. I used to work on an oyster dredge boat in the Chesapeake Bay and lived on a small island called Smith Island. What a wonderful time I had, a highlight of a lifetime...Pop'
