Discoveries Galore - and Guffaws!

We feel it in our bones; a chill wind from the north has us hugging our flasks and buttoning up our tweed. Yet, despite the claw of winter, later this week, members of the Ragged Society of Antiquarian Ramblers will be out and about exploring wonderful old places. Warmed by good company and hot tea (poured directly from the flask - not via an abominable screw-top), I sense that there will be discoveries galore - and guffaws aplenty!

Huzzah!

Do my ears deceive me? Are there still poor souls out there that use twist and pour lids? Why I thought we had had them all shot! I would heartily recommend we send evidence to the committee and suggest a working party forthwith.
We cannot have these blighters running around peddling their version of "the correct way to pour". Wouldn't have happened in my day, I tell you. Not by a long chalk....

  2. Here here Sir Norman St Johnson-Johnson! I heartily agree with you on this despicable 'twist and pour' nonsense... poppycock!

  3. There are rumours that the proposed R.S.A.R. excursion this Friday will include a rendezvous, whereby Ragged Ramblers will meet up on location. If so, then this represents something of a first for the Society. We are also hopeful that a goodly array of cake will be to hand. One also wonders whether or not Aunty Gary's floral bone china plates might make another appearance... This is all too exciting!

    Huzzah!

  4. Disaster! My edit window for this blog has disappeared which means that I can't post anything new here. I really hope that other members of the Society are able to assist, as, otherwise, that'll be the end of my contributions.

I am in a condition of the most pitiable funk!

    My dear Munroe,
Please do not stress, I have been to Pitiable Funk before. Lovely place on the south coast. If my memory serves me correct, I partook of tea and scones with a delightful antiquarian scholar. Lovely fine china plates and tea cups.
I do believe that the problem with your window is a temporary one and that the judicious use of a good cleaner with a ukelele and a rather catchy tune will sort you out in short time.
    Huzzah sir....
