Here is the superb (largely) Saxon church at Newton, North-West Norfolk. It was something of a 'stumble' for the small band of RSAR members who visited here last week. Indeed, it was only when Munro Tweeder-Harris, Esq. noted the warm recommendation for this 'gem' of a church, in Mortlock & Roberts, that it was decided to pay a visit.
We Ragged Ramblers profess a love of small, aisle-less churches. So it was with some expectation that we opened the door and entered therein. We were immediately struck by the ancient stillness of this special place.
We shall return.
