A Tall Story - View From Salle Church Tower

If you click the photos, they will grow...

It's not just that the top of the tower of Salle church is a very long way up...

It is!
... it's also a very long way d

It is also true that here, via the wonders of virtual media, you can get a sense of what it's like to look down from such a tall tower, without enduring the labour of the spiral stairs, or - for some! - the butterflies in one's stomach as you look down.

Some of members of the Society prefer not to ascend to such heights. Others simply feel on top of the world at bird flight height...

  1. Marvellous. I worked restoring the gargoyles of Banwell hurch in Somerset once - a 120 foot climb up a good deal more steps, but well worth it.
