Molehill Archaeology at St Benets Abbey


Moles are busy little excavators - very useful for archaeologists on historic sites. Here's a link to an interesting training opportunity for volunteers interesting in doing molehill surveys at the bleakly beautiful St Benets Abbey site:

  1. I found an enamelled, medieval book-boss in a molehill at Newark Priory once - or at least the mole did. Here's to the little gentleman in the velvet waistcoat.
