The Ragged Society's Jack Hargreaves Evening

On Friday evening last, several Members of The Ragged Society of Antiquarian Ramblers decided to gather for food and Jack Hargreaves. We are big fans of that great countryman and surrogate grandfather, and felt it would be a wonderful thing to do. And so it proved.

Drib by drab, Ragged Ramblers arrived, clad in various assortments of Harris tweed, caps, deerstalkers and what not. Thadeus Basil-Snapper cooked up a glorious beef stew and we feasted heartily as Aunty Gary regaled us with hilarious stories of his hospitalisation with 'the stone'. Satiated, we retired to Munro Tweeder-Harris Esq's study, to watch Jack Hargreaves films. Here are some visual snippets of our evening for your delectation...

  1. I was in contact with Jack Hargreaves's daughter recently, and she told me that although his little shed was a TV set, he actually spent most of his time in a real one, just like it. Most reassuring.

  2. Ahh an evening of Out of Town a splendid idea, I shall have a glass of dandelion & burdock in my shed to celebrate the passing of the stone. Hope all’s well with the esteemed gentlemen of Ragged ramblers
