Thinking Big in the British Museum

It is perhaps ironic that we are told the people in the past were smaller than us and yet they seemed to think on a much bigger scale than we do today. Whilst we celebrate smallness as evidence of quality including slim and tiny phones like the one I'm blogging on tonight, in days gone by it was about big and bold. Take the remnants of this carved marble horse I stumbled upon in the Greek galleries of the British Museum. It's bleeding huge and the full immensity of this statue would have been even more immense when you take into account it was once one of a team of horses pulling a chariot.

Not I as big as the Internet when all said and done, but it makes you think..
